Strings Attached....

Maybe I'm just more picky, in my oldage.  But, it seems to me that celery has more 'strings', than it used to.
I really don't like the strings.  But, it seems it takes more work to get rid of them these days.

I'm going to stick that celery root in the garden, and see if it roots.  I read somewhere...I can't remember where...that you can do that.  Just like rooting the top of a pineapple.
I also read you can do that with the root ends of green onions.
Won't hurt to try.  I'll let you know how it goes.

UPDATE:
I learned the celery root trick from Ally on Garden Ally.
She says hers is still going strong.
Thanks, Ally.

So, we're off to watch some football.
No....those didn't come from my garden.  But, they'll be good anyway.
We need a little 'health food', to go with all the 'football food' we'll be having.

I don't really have a favorite, in the Super Bowl.  But, I'll probably pick one by game time,
just to have one to cheer for.

Hope your team wins.

Happy Gardening...

  1. Hey Linda, I think you may have heard about the celery from me (http://www.gardenally.blogspot.com/2012/01/magic-celery.html). I'm still amazed it works. My celery is still growing away out in the garden. I think it likes this cool, rainy weather. Good luck growing your celery.

    1. You're right. It was you.
      I'm going back & edit...
Glad to hear yours is still doing well. Celery has such pretty leaves, even if it never makes a stalk, it'll be worth planting it.

I love your comments. Thanks for dropping by.

This is a word verification free blog. It seems to be working out, so far.
