Let It Snow!!....

It's been ten days ago, now.
But, something that very rarely happens in this area, happened.

IT SNOWED!!!

Enough to stick.

That was a Thursday night.
On Monday of that week, we hit 84 degrees.

Welcome to Texas weather.

It kept on snowing...

And, snowing...

Wet, heavy snow...

The next morning dawned bright and sunny.

The snow was already beginning to melt.

But, it was beautiful, while it lasted.

I worried about some things.
But, they came through ok.

They's no telling when we'll ever see this again.

It was SO fun!

When you live with Texas weather...
you just never know what you'll get.

Hope the weather's just the way you want it,
wherever you are.

Happy Friday....

And....Happy March 1st.

OK...I know you've heard me say this time and time again, but...
where does the time go?

Today dawned clear and cold....in fact, 24F cold.

I showed you another moon, just like the one above,
a month ago, today.

We had a full week....

We had a sunset party, at Driftwood Estate Winery.

The night before, a sad thing happened in Wimberley.
The Ace Hardware burned down.

A complete loss.  Nobody was hurt.
But, thirty-four people will be out of work, for a while.

We have Longhorn Baseball tickets.
So, we took in some games.
Do you know there are thirty-one home games?

Nice car, in the parking lot.

We had a very windy Monday.  Gusts up to 55 mph, here.
Now....lots of clean-up.

Thankfully, those winds didn't come the night of the Ace fire.

That same system, brought a second snow storm, to our Kansas kids.
Lots more snow and strong winds.

Our daughter sent these pictures.  As she said, "Nature made her own snowballs."
The wind blew that hard!

And, we spent some time here.  Locals will recognize this garden center on
South Congress.

Now....more garden work is under way here.
Stay tuned...

It never ends.

Hope you had a great week.
And, have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Gardening...

No..This Is Not Here...

About this time last year, our daughter and her family
moved from northern North Dakota, to southern Kansas.

We were thrilled.  Hours and hours closer to us.

We'd get to see them more often.

And, they were loving the warmer, less snowy weather.
The high was 19F, in their North Dakota town, the day this picture was made in Kansas.

But, if you're seven, and you've had snow almost every winter you can remember,
you sometimes miss it.

So, a couple weeks ago...if the teacher gives you an assignment for
reading class...you tell everybody your wish.

Uh....guess wishes do work sometimes.

Those North Dakota supplies sure come in handy.
I think our son-in-law might win most popular on the block.

One neighbor has already brought over cookies.

Does this fall in the 'Be careful what you wish for.' category?

*******

Oh, by the way....it's 75F, here at Patchwork Garden.
