Top 'O the Morning....

We had a bit of a storm last night.
A lot of noise. A little wind.
And, some nice rain.

But, the day started nice and sunny, with everything newly washed.

My new little pig planter..a gift from our daughter's family...
was soaking up the sun, on the front porch.

The sun was lighting up the fenced yard.

I love the morning light, on the beds.

Making the dark spots glow a little.

Shining on the Rio...

and, making the fountain sparkle.

It shines across the porch...

making fun light and shadow.

Waking up the new Tree Aloe...another gift...from our son's family.
(Do my kids know me, or what?)

The Side yard is mostly in shadow...making the light in the
Garden Grove glow....
What's that back there?

Another limb down.  Looks like it may have broken during the Big Storm, last week.
I guess the wind last night, brought it to the ground.

Glad I did the walk around. I might have seen this after the limb pick up, today.

It's always good to take a garden walk.

Hope your garden is glowing today.

Happy Gardening...

Good Morning....

It's a beautiful morning.

Sunlight streaming into the Fenced Yard, makes things sparkle.

They've forecast some rain....maybe today or tomorrow.

But, not yet.

The Hyacinth Bean is doing it's thing.

And, the Esperanza is finally blooming.

There are pretty blooms on this Gaura.  I'm not pleased with the plant itself.
It'll probably get moved to more sun, this fall.

And, speaking of fall...

We're getting ready for the bucks, when they begin to rub the velvet
off their antlers.

They seem to love the yuccas and agaves, for doing that.
It just shreds them....and, ruins them.

I don't like having plants living in cages.
But, what I like even less, is having to replace those plants.

I hope you're having a great morning, too.

Happy Gardening...

Morning Light.....

Ah...August in Texas.
That means HOT and HUMID....and, little to NO rain.

So, there is watering to be done.
Since I'm so smart (ha!), I have lots of containers.  That means watering every day.

Morning...before the Death Star of the sun gets too high...is the best time.

Sometimes though, you need to stop and LOOK at the new day.

LOOK at the way the light plays on the flowers.

LOOK at the way the light shines through the leaves.

LOOK at the way the light sets a pot of grass aglow.

LOOK at the way the light glistens on bubbling water.

LOOK at the way the light welcomes us into the new day.

This is the day the Lord has made,
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
