It's still August, right? I mean, just a few days left...but still August.
Fall...real Fall...is weeks away.
We've had more rain this year than last...LOTS more rain.
That means...MORE LEAVES.
Lately, it's been pretty dry. Maybe that's why we have this, already.
And, this has been our daily routine. Yes, I said DAILY.
Maybe this leaf fall is from the stress of the dryness. It's early for the Fall...uh...fall.
We're not going to run out of leaves, anytime soon.
Oh well...it's good exercise.
Happy Gardening...

The weather is affecting the garden and trees in such interesting ways this year. Such a mess for every day but I always count gardening as exercise.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many fall leaves here, but some of my fall bloomers bloomer back in the spring.
Gardening is excellent exercise....lifting, bending, digging. I can always tell I've had a workout.
DeleteHopefully it will lessen the impact of all the leaves in fall:) It's strange isn't it? A tree's natural defense against drought. Hopefully next year will be better for the trees and other plants. Love the branches here.
ReplyDeleteTrees lose moisture through their leaves. Dropping the leaves helps that...I guess.
DeleteI noticed that yesterday, how dry your area is compared to down here in Austin. Not as dry as me, but still...seems you need much more to recover to average. And greener, fuller plants. If those are live oaks, they should not be doing that until spring...
ReplyDeleteWe are dry. But, these are Cedar Elms. They still have lots of leaves left.
DeleteIt's not unusual for leaves to start dropping in July or August for us, but this year we've had a tad more rain east of Austin, so the trees are hold onto their leaves so far. What's really cool is all the beauty berries. Last year they were so sad, but this year they are covered with berries.
ReplyDeleteWe were at the Wildflower Center yesterday. Their Beautyberries were beautiful!
DeleteMulch! I will say, one benefit of a non-paved driveway: no leaf pick-up required!
ReplyDeleteYep - a little early to be raking leaves! but our leaves are doing it too.
