Cross Over the Bridge....

We took a trip into town yesterday.  We needed to get some things from King's.
We took the 'back way'...across Cypress Creek.

Isn't that a pretty sight?  Just a few months ago, you had to look very close to see a tiny trickle, under the bridge.
Now look at it.  The rains have really helped.

The swimming hole is filling up.  This is spring water.  It comes from Jacob's Well....a well known deep spring, with underwater (dangerous) caves.  Cypress Creek winds around into Wimberley and then on to the Blanco River.

No swimmers this day.

Unless you count this Egret, wading along the edge.

This is a narrow, low water crossing.  We have to take turns.  The water is not too high to cross.

Maybe this marker is just standard.  But, I think it would be a bit scary to see water to the top.

Back home to work on the new bed.  I'll show progress, soon.

Our son asked if this place is ever going to be finished.

Well...uh...NO!
Crazy 'kid'....

Happy Gardening...

  1. It certainly is wonderful to see the creeks running and wildlife returning.

  2. Love the low water crossings. Kinda of looks like the municipal lake in Blanco. Love those backwater areas in the Hill Country. I'm glad for you that your daughter is moving closer. My son moved from San Antonio to Oklahoma City a few months ago, we used to see him about 2 or 3 times a year, now its almost every weekend it seems. Argonia is just 45 miles west of here. Snowing as I write and suppose to be down to 10 degrees tonight. If she needs any starts let me know. g.

  3. I like seeing all that water and the plants alive...1/2" per week for you, and half that for me, and I think we will both be very happy! That water crossing is cool; we have to wing it here...but that could take 10 years.

  4. yes, 5' of water is scary - and based on the fact that you have to drive down to the low water crossing, it does make it possible that maybe one day there will be 5' going over that road.

I love your comments. Thanks for dropping by.

This is a word verification free blog. It seems to be working out, so far.
