Cat, at The Whimsical Gardener, has challenged us to a 30 Day Challenge of Thanksgiving.
A post a day, for 30 days, to celebrate the things we are thankful for, in our lives.
~~Day 12~~
White Crowned Sparrow
I'm thankful for birds.
We have so many birds. It's another of the many entertainments we have here.
Birds travel through here on their migrations. Many more are here year round.
The wooded areas around us, give them cover and we supply water and seed.
It's just one more thing that makes this such a nice place for us to live.

Great capture. I haven't seen one of these yet. I'm very thankful for birds as well. It makes me happy to see them on my feeder.
ReplyDeleteWhat type of bird is this, Linda? It's sweet. My idea of a nice hour is to sit and watch the birds frolicking about my yard. They are so busy!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda....I've just discovered birds this year and am working on making our place a garden to come and visit. They are so wonderful to have around. Sometimes we'll have around 20-30 birds sitting in the trees chirping. It adds a lot wonderful energy to our garden that makes people smile. I'm working on gradual steps....and this year it has been a good one. I'm working with hummingbirds and mixing their sugar juice every week. It has been the most rewarding project this year so far!!
ReplyDeleteNice! I think I'm thankful for you and others who manage to get more good bird photos than I can pull off!!!
ReplyDeleteYou always show great bird photos. I don't recall seeing this one before but now if I see it i will be able to identify it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhite Crowned sparrows are not regulars here...although we're in the right area. We have LOTS of other sparrows. But, we have lots of birds. They're all welcome.
ReplyDeleteWe sit out with binoculars to watch them. Some neighbors must think we're spying on them. :)
I do like the telephoto lens on my camera. Helps me get up close.
