Cat, at The Whimsical Gardener, has challenged us to a 30 Day Challenge of Thanksgiving.
~~Day 28~~
Today, I'm thankful for a cover-up.
When I saw that our several thermometers said it was 28 degrees at 10:30 last night,
I got out there and covered up our newest plant.
Glad I did.
The day dawned crisp and clear....and, COLD....22 degrees!
Heavy frost covered the fairway across the street.
We had moved several containers into the garage during the day.
Cold winds aren't the best thing for our tropicals.
I saved the remains of the Bougainvillea.
Thankful I did...
~~Linda~~
Oh yeah, I was right there with you except I was dragging huge pots into the garage about 11:15!! I clipped 2 types of elephant ear and philodendron leaves. Maybe will press them if I can find something big enough to put them between :)
ReplyDeleteIt's chilly in your neck of the woods! Austin keeps falling short of freezing, but I've been throwing sheets over the tropicals just in case. Love your bougainvillea bouquet.
ReplyDeleteCat...it'll be interesting to see how your leaves come out.
ReplyDeleteAmy...I think we live in a hole. Well...we do live in a valley. Maybe that's why it gets colder here. I know we'll usually be ten degrees colder than in town.
That bougainvillea has really been beautiful this year. I think it likes its new pot.
