As predicted...the heat returned this last week.
Not many triple digit days, but the humidity was BAD.
Despite that, Mr. P and I took a little trip over to the
Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center.
Seems more than heat has returned.
The banks of Gregg's Mistflower were swarming with Monarch Butterflies.
They seemed to be ignoring any other blooms.
A beautiful sight. And, worth enduring the hot, humid morning.

And yet another sign of fall......

HAVE A GREAT (AND SAFE) HOLIDAY WEEKEND...

Those are some good signs:) I really want to visit the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. I think I'm going to wait until it cools off a bit. I've got Queen butterflies all over my Gregg's Mistflower. I read that it is an aphrodisiac for them. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteJust there today, and between orange butterflies (and other colors), and people wearing orange, fall is not far. Too bad the weather doesn't reflect fall in Austin yet - it's already forecast to be a "crisp" low 90's / low-60's back home in Abq when I return! Well, crisper. I really need to work on my mist flower / butterfly pics to be better like yours'...amaxing clarity!
ReplyDeleteOh, those photos of the Monarchs are stunning!
