Foliage Follow-Up, June 2014....

The day after Bloomday.....
time for Pam's Foliage Follow-Up.

I'll do the same as for Bloomday...
photos with few words.

 'Gold Dust' Acuba

 Yucca 'Color Guard'....thought this was a goner...deer & flood.
But, it's putting on pups.

Lots of figs this year.  We'll see if they make it to ripeness.

Yucca 'Color Guard' in New Front Bed.
 Grass Bed from back.
Purple Fountain Grass, Lemon Grass, African Iris...salvias & yarrow.

 Grass Bed from side.
Mexican Feather Grass, Gulf Muhly, prickly pear and Spanish Bayonet yucca, rosemary, etc.

 Grass Bed from front.
Agave Lophantha in front.

Sago Palm...this poor thing had a hard time this last winter.

Along side, in Fenced Yard.
Aralia, purple heart, lamb's ear, dianella, liriope, asparagus fern.
Filling in slowly.....

Yucca Rostrata in Island Bed in front.
This is really growing.  I hope I'm not sorry about where it sits.

Soft Leaf Yucca....thought this one wasn't going to make it back
from the Halloween Flood.  But, it's looking good.

One of my new succulent pots.

 The other one...

Fits into the 'Tropical Corner', on the porch.

So, that's it for this month.
We have more foliage here, than blooms.
But, we like it that way.

Go over to Pam's, and see more great foliage.

Late to the Wideshot Party...Again...

My Daddy used to say, I was always a day late and a dollar short.
I would tease, if he gave me the dollar, we could fix that part.

But, seems I am a bit late with the Wideshot, every month.

Heather, over at Xericstyle,
started posting a wide shot of her garden at the first of every month,
and asked us to play along.

It's a good way to see how the garden is progressing.

So, let's start at the front, and go around.

I had too long a lens for the whole front.
So, we have sections.

Don't you love that power box and poles?

A closer look at the Front Beds.

And, the Drive Bed, on the other side of the circular drive.

The view from the mailbox.

The Fenced Yard.

With our crazy spring weather, things are way behind last year.
Some clean up and edging needs to be done.

Outside the back gate, this bed is beginning to fill in.

The Back Bed, along the back of the house.
Again, things are way behind.

And, finally, the view from the back, toward the mailbox.

You won't see the veggie garden this time.
It's pretty pitiful.

Go see Heather for more Wideshots.
(Blogger's not letting me do links today.  Go to Xericstyle.wordpress.com.)

Here's hoping I get my act together and do this at the first of next month.
Yeah...right...

The Battle of the Anoles....

Last night, Mr P was sitting on the porch.
Yep...that's usual.

But, a battle on that porch, was not a usual thing.

These two Anoles were really going at it.

Photos by Mr P.  A bit blurry, but he got the action.

At one point, one threw the other one off.  But, he came back for more.

Mr. P finally had enough, and broke them up.  After all...they're supposed to kill bugs,
not each other.

The Hummingbird said 'Thank you'.

Welcome to June....

It's been a while since I posted.
We've been away.

It's the time of year, for my 'Girls Group' to get together.

Panama City Beach again.

We're still a good group.
And, we always have fun.

We caught a lot of good sunsets this year.

Afterward, Mr. P & I went to one of our group's home.
Spent a couple days, relaxing on their back porch, overlooking the small
lake, behind their house.  Lots of geese and ducks.

Then, the four of us went to San Augustine for a few days.
We stayed at the Bayfront Westcott House.
A lovely b&b, in an old house, right on the bay.

We did all the tourist things.
Above is Flagler College.  It was built as an exclusive hotel.
I took a lot of photos, and I'll post about San Augustine soon.

Back at home, the grapes are filling out.

We had a BIG rain.  One of those that make me nervous.
And, the creek started flowing again.  Lots of water over the waterfall.

The main thing blooming is the Monarda 'Peter's Purple'.
I love it.  It's supposed to be a bully.  But, that's ok with me.
Thanks Bob, for this pass along.

It's been a busy week, back at home.
But, I did manage to get by the garden center, for those annuals I didn't
want to plant before we left.

A gardener's gotta do, what a gardener's gotta do.
I think my family believes they need to start intervention.

So, that's the news from Patchwork Garden.
