If you've seen any of my posts lately, you know we're in the throes of a severe drought here in Central Texas. I've been moaning and whining for months now. If fact, my last post...Wordless Wednesday...was a silent whine.
The .47 inches of rain here at the house yesterday was not anywhere near what we need. After all, we've been without rain for two months here.
But, those horrid temperatures that were forecast haven't shown up the last couple of days. In fact, it's only been in the 90s, and overcast skies. And then, that glorious, wonderful rain....
We're very thankful for what we got. But...
Please Sir, can we have some more?????
Yes, thankful for what we got is the way to go about it.. and there is no limit to what we can ask... I think the SIR is listening to your request.....
ReplyDeleteOver here, we start getting rain every other day, not too heavy, just enough for grass and birds to cheer about.... Now, not as hot as before..

Congratulations, Linda! Now, it's our turn! After 103 degrees weather which is very unusual for the Pacific NW, we need some moisture, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, so glad you got some much needed precip. And a break from the stifling heat for a little while too. Hope you are able to get more. We have been more lucky this year with it than the last two here in TN. Poor PNW, though. We feel the pain of all our gardening friends.

Hi, All. Thanks for the comments. It's amazing how that tiny bit of rain perked things up. Now, we're back to hot and dry.
