A Day in the Life....

...of a Daylily.

This is Chicago Star.  Last year it didn't bloom at all.
I moved as many daylilies as I could, to sunnier spots.

It must have worked.
She is looking quite healthy.

Look at that large, pretty face.  A full seven inches across.

But, her beauty is fleeting.  It only lasts one day.
Enjoy it while you can.

Happy Gardening...

  2. Ah ah! Always like that with daylilies...you must be there when it blooms and don't blink! Or you'll miss it! I love them anyways! I have a lot of them in my garden...8)

  4. What a beautiful bloom, and such a sunny yellow color! I am waiting (impatiently) for my transplanted day lilies to bloom in their new spot. I won't get anything so large as yours, but I'll take any blooms I can get after a year of no shows.

  5. Hi, Thanks for visiting.
The second bloom this week on this plant, is not as big....big, but a bit smaller. This is the regular size for this daylily. All my other ones are lots smaller.
I'm just glad they're finally blooming.
