Clear and Cold...

Another clear, cold morning.
The moon was still peeking through the trees.
28 degrees, when I got up....the tv showed 43 degrees, at the station in Austin.
Mr. P. says it's that 'Valley Effect'.  We're always a bit colder here.

It's supposed to climb into the 70s this afternoon.

Then, Friday the low's predicted to be in the 20s...in town.

Better get those blankets ready to cover some things.

Have a Great Day...

  1. Beautiful photo. It's interesting how much colder you are there. It was already in the forties this morning. We plan take advantage of the nice day. Our "freeze" will be more like 30 here.

  2. It was 38 degrees at my house last night. Eleven degrees might not seem like much, but in this case, it's the difference between no freeze and hard freeze. Looks like the next cold front will bring some freezing temps for sure. I'll definitely take your advice and pull out the plant blankets. I'm growing some awesome artichokes and I don't want anything to happen to them.

  4. Lovely photos!

You're a lot colder than we are...Robbi Will (manager of the Antique Rose Emporium in San Antonio) agrees with your husband. Low places are colder.

Hope your 2012 is full of growth.

PS About the racoons, we take in most bird feeders at night.

  5. Wonderful photos. The weather was fantastic this afternoon. It was in the mid 70's and sunny in SA. This weather is making me want to get out in the garden.

  6. What photos...brrr! Yes, lower areas usually colder locally at night than uplands and towns...though with wind, not always. That is one huge contrast from you to ATX.
