These Guys Broke the Mold...

We had a lot of rain this spring.
Days of rain and clouds, and very little sunshine, to dry things out.

Everything became green...
including the driveway, the deck....everything.

The driveway developed a thick slime.
And, after I slid and bruised my tailbone on Father's Day,
going out for the paper,
our daughter and son-in-law came to power wash.

We have a circular drive.

So...dear son-in-law...who has no 'off' button...spent over
SIX HOURS
washing away the slime.

The slime was thick, and it was slow-going.

But now, it almost looks like a new driveway.
If I fall now, it'll have to be blamed on something else.

They left the powerwasher for Mr P to use on the deck.
It was pretty black and moldy.
Amazing how just water can wash that away.

I thought the porch wasn't quite that bad.
But, up against the clean, you can see it had to be done, too.

The older generation doesn't work as fast, but it's finally done.
We just have to seal the wood now, and it should be good for a while.

Sitting here this morning with my coffee, I'm loving the clean.

And, as an extra bonus....it smells so much better.

Life is good today....

Happy Gardening...

  1. Much better, we've had to do some of that this summer too. That's a lot of work but he did a great job!

I didn't think our front walk was too bad until he started up the power washer and I could see the difference. We have a lot more to do but it will be nice to get it done.

  2. I just bought a new power washer and tried it out today. I didn't realize our flagstone patio had turned black. The stones are actually a pretty color when they're clean.

    1. Ours turned black really fast. Looking good now, though. And, safer.

  3. Pretty. Amazing how much a power-wash can do!

Are your deer knoshing less in the garden since so many plants grew in the wilds from the rain?

    1. The deer never go away. They did give us a reprieve for a short time. But, they're back at it.
      Just too many of them.

  4. Hi Linda, I so enjoyed this post. I hope your tailbone is feeling better. We bought a pressure washer awhile back, and I did my greenhouse. I need to seal it now. Always something to do isn't there? ~~Dee

    1. You're right. There's always something. We have to seal ours now, too.
      That's on this weekend's schedule.
      Tailbone is much better....thanks.

  5. I had forgotten about that slimy build-up your area gets, that goes with having so much more green. Power-washing - great to have such tools, and good for your son-in-law.

Soon, you'll be bounding just like the deer gazing at you once again enjoying coffee alfresco!
