About this time last year, our daughter and her family
moved from northern North Dakota, to southern Kansas.
We were thrilled. Hours and hours closer to us.
We'd get to see them more often.
And, they were loving the warmer, less snowy weather.
The high was 19F, in their North Dakota town, the day this picture was made in Kansas.
But, if you're seven, and you've had snow almost every winter you can remember,
you sometimes miss it.
So, a couple weeks ago...if the teacher gives you an assignment for
reading class...you tell everybody your wish.
Uh....guess wishes do work sometimes.
Those North Dakota supplies sure come in handy.
I think our son-in-law might win most popular on the block.
One neighbor has already brought over cookies.
Does this fall in the 'Be careful what you wish for.' category?

What an adorable little boy! I don't think it will be snowing here any time soon, though a snow day would be nice. I could use a day off from work :)

ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd see the day I'd say this, but that snowblower is looking pretty good right about now! 14" of snow is great for the garden, but puts a pretty good stop to getting around for humans! (We're in south central Kansas, too!)

Lots & lots of snow! We had sleet, freezing rain, lightening & thunder yesterday, all day, but it sure is melting away today. YaY! =)

I'm sure glad I live in Austin and not in Kansas. A lot of my family lives in Kansas and have enjoyed calling them over the years and saying that I'm in shorts and t shirt when they had lots of snow on the ground.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful for you, and that little one is a sweetie. Every once in a while I miss snow -- I lived in MN for 4 years -- but then I think about shoveling, scraping, salting...then I feel better!
