The Color Purple....

It rained again.
Big lightning and thunder,
and another inch of rain.

It seems that the Texas Sage, Cenizo, blooms all over the neighborhood.
But, for some reason, seldom here.

But, not this time.  This time, there are LOTS of blooms.

Their pretty purple blooms are covering the shrubs.

And, the perfume from the blooms, is really nice.

This shrub really needs to be trimmed back.
But, for now, I'm glad I didn't get around to it.

The bees are glad, too.

Happy Gardening...

  1. They are blooming all over the place this week thanks to all the rain. The best blooms are in the full sun. Sometimes my neighbor's west facing sage blooms much earlier and fuller than those with afternoon shade.

The sage along my driveway are just maturing enough to bloom in full sun this week after a year of hit or miss blooming.

  2. It's wonderful to have such a fabulous display of color in July. Let's hope August brings more of these surprise showers.
