This and That....

It's been busy around here.
 Getting ready for Christmas.

Every year, I say I'm going to start early.
Every year, I don't.
Hmmm....I'm sure some expert would have some answer
for why that happens.

The weather's been nice.  This was yesterday's morning sky.

The day before was colder and the moon looked crisp and cold, in the morning sky.

I've been spending a lot of time inside....getting the decorations put up.

We put down some stepping stones, in the New Front Bed.
Maybe a little too straight.   But, they're there.

.
I finally got the pansies planted.
I'm good at buying bedding plants.
Not as good at getting them planted.

Of course, the ever-present deer are still here.
They look so nice, don't they.
Yeah...don't believe it.

So....
We still have shopping to do.
We still have some decorating to finish.
And, we have family and friend events to attend.

I think maybe Santa (above) has the right idea.
Let's all run away to the beach.

That's what's going on here.
Hope things are coming together for all of you.

Happy Gardening...

  1. I love the photo of the deer browsing out the back. And of course your Christmas decorations. So festive. Yes, I still have lots of things to do to get ready for the big day.

  2. Oh yes, the beach sounds perfect :) All the same going on here in addition to working. The kiddos will return in a week and I'm thrilled to have them home! Love all your decorations and the new bed looks great! Enjoy the festivities!

  3. I enjoy seeing your Santa collection each year. Your new path looks great. So far the deer have not been known to eat mulch--at least not too much of it. The photo is gorgeous with the light, they do looks so sweet and peaceful out there and no I don't believe it since the herd has grown to the point they are more destructive than in past years.

  4. Those deer always look great to me when they are seen far (far!) away eating off somebody else's salad bar. With the rains bringing a lot of leaves, fruit and berries, it seems the deer herds here west of Austin are larger (and bolder) than ever. That is not a holiday treat. Not in the least.

On the other hand, your Santa collection and other decor are complete treats for the eyes. Thanks for sharing them! Hope you and yours will have heart warming celebrations and safe travels (beach destinations or not!).
