Finally...

I mentioned recently, that we were taking a cruise.  We sailed away from Fort Lauderdale, and headed south.

We went to Aruba

We went to Cartagena, Columbia

We went through the Gatun locks of the Panama Canal.

We took a tram ride through the rainforest in Costa Rica.

We spent a day relaxing in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

And, we had a great time with friends.

We saw SO many beautiful and interesting plants.  I don't know what most of them were.  Research will have to be done.
   This tree in Aruba.

This bougainvillea in Cartagena.  I've never seen a double one.

Cartagena again....a tree on the side of a street...through a bus window.

Another Cartagena....a vine on one of the colorful buildings in the Old City.

And, the rainforest in Costa Rica...it was overwhelming.  This is some kind of Bird of Paradise.

In Costa Rica....I think this is a Fishtail Palm.

But, that's what our guide called this.  The photo doesn't show the size.  The leaves are about ten inches across.  Bats bend the leaves to make 'tents' to sleep under.

The sun coming through this leaf, made red spots.  From the top, those spots were brown.

Now these we recognized....Impatiens.  They were growing wild along the roadsides.

Our young guide on our tram ride in the rain forest, was very good.  He gave us Latin names of a lot of the plants.  But, trying to see everything on all sides..there was no time to write things down.

In Jamaica, we saw these trees.

And, the roots of Banyan trees are always interesting to me.

There are LOTS more photos....too many for here.  We took over a thousand photos.  So much to see.

It was a great trip.
