This is what we woke up to, the day we left for our Big Trip. This, after four days of temperatures not getting above 25 degrees. This is south Central Texas....not the frozen north.
It was justs a dusting. And, hopefully left behind some much needed moisture. The days of cold were the bigger problem.
Our friends in the DFW area were jealous of our 'dusting'. They got another six inches. Scenes of the arena for the Super Bowl were surreal to this native north central Texan.
I didn't venture too close to the creek. With all the ice, I didn't want to take the chance. We were, after all, leaving for a long drive and cruise.
This poor Sago Palm, Cycas revoluta, made it through the cold of last winter. I hope it does the same this year.
The 'blooms' on the bottle tree are never dulled by heat or cold.
The roads had cleared by the time we left. No problems on our drive to Georgia to visit friends, and then the four of us drive to Ft. Lauderdale to catch the ship. Our DFW friends, made it out with no problems.
I guess we'll have to wait, to see if there are problems in the garden. It's been spring-like, ever since our return. Time to get out and prune.
Hope things are going well in your garden.
Happy Gardening...
